After completing his studies at Oxford University, David joins the family practice. Alongside John and Pauline, the team grows steadily, offering proactive support to clients. At its peak, the firm employs over 20 staff and becomes a well-known presence across Kent.

2009 – A New Chapter Begins
With a wealth of commercial experience, David returns to his roots and founds a new chapter of Burns & Co Accountants. The practice re-launches with a renewed focus on proactive service, fixed fees, and no surprise billing—values shaped by decades of client experience.

John retires after a 50-year career in accountancy. David steps away from practice to pursue roles in industry, serving as Finance Director across several sectors, including hospitality (over 150 pubs, restaurants & hotels), IT research, and B2B publishing and events.

2014 – Growth with Family at the Core
Dominic joins the practice, marking the next step in the family legacy.
